Elim Pentecostal Church commitment to safeguarding
The Elim Pentecostal Church is committed to safeguarding children and adults in need of protection.
The Elim National Leadership Team acknowledges that safeguarding the vulnerable in our churches, activities and within the communities in which we work, both here and overseas, is of paramount importance and reflects the nature of Jesus Christ.
Elim requires each of its churches to adopt a safeguarding policy, carry out training and have good working procedures in place.
Safeguarding at Hanley Elim Church
Safeguarding involves protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults, ensuring those who may lack a voice are supported and heard.
In our Church community, we are committed to:
• Valuing, listening to, and respecting children, young people and vulnerable adults, while promoting their welfare and protection.
• Conducting safe recruitment, providing supervision, offering training and completing DBS checks for all children’s and youth workers within the Church.
• Maintaining connections with statutory childcare authorities and external organisations to benefit from their expertise and advice.
• Offering support to anyone affected by abuse.
• Implementing a procedure for addressing concerns related to any form of abuse, which forms a core part of our safeguarding policy.
• Ensuring a safe environment for everyone.
You can find a copy of the latest Hanley Elim safeguarding policy and awareness leaflet below, as well as posted on our notice board in the lobby of the church.
